Kim Kardashian was caught looking less than impressed after a security guard stepped on the train of her Met Gala dress.
The 44-year-old SKIMS founder turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night (May 5), arriving in a striking Chrome Hearts leather two-piece ensemble that seamlessly aligned with this year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
The reality star and business mogul donned a backless crocodile-print corset top paired with a low-dipping skirt, completing the bold look with a wide-brim fedora, cascading diamond necklaces, and matching dangling earrings.
The theme, celebrating the cultural legacy and impact of Black fashion, came with a “Tailored for You” dress code. Kardashian’s outfit appeared to draw inspiration from the zoot suits worn by Black men in the 1930s and 1940s – an era of bold tailoring and rebellious style.
Her sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, also attended the event, dressed in Ferragamo and Givenchy, respectively.
While Kardashian’s red carpet appearance went off without a hitch, the same couldn’t be said for her pre-event departure from The Mark Hotel.
In a now-viral video posted to TikTok, she was seen walking with her 11-year-old daughter, North West, when a security guard accidentally stepped on the train of her dress.
The clip shows the guard taking a slight tumble, with Kardashian looking back and holding out her hand to steady him.
Though the incident was brief, the business mogul, whose wide-brimmed hat partially obscured her face, appeared stoic and slightly annoyed as she flicked her hair and continued walking.
Fans online had plenty to say about the moment. One TikTok user wrote: “It’s the hair flick for me like boy don’t mess this up for me,” while another commented: “Someone almost made her fall. She looks amazing!”
Met Gala mishaps are nothing new for the mom of four.
Back in 2023, she wore a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown adorned with over 50,000 freshwater pearls and 16,000 crystal pearls. But after the event, a few strings at the bottom unraveled as she exited her car, PEOPLE reported.
The year before, she caused a stir by wearing Marilyn Monroe’s legendary 1962 “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress. Though the gown appeared to suffer some damage, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, which loaned the dress, confirmed Kardashian wasn’t to blame.
Reflecting on the moment in the reality TV show, The Kardashians, she revealed she had tried “everything” to fit into the gown worn by the late Monroe during her performance for President John F. Kennedy’s 45th birthday.
